For over a decade Richard Gere has been and advocate for the Buddhist people. He has traveled to Tibet many times and spoken out publicly for the imprisoned Tibetan people. Richard has devoted much of his time and money for his causes and has met many times with His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama.

In 1997 Richard photos from his trips to Tibet were put in book form titled Pilgrim.
